Rowdy Vaal residents lose Eskom services

Eskom spokesman warns Vaal residents to behave or else miss out on electricity

Criminal elements in some townships of Vaal led Eskom to temporarily withdraw services in some areas in Sedibeng districts.

This was in response to residents’ tendency of frog-marching Eskom technicians to attended to unreported faults.

Rowdy protesting residents have been hijacking and forcing Eskom technicians to fix faults that have nothing to do with their presence in the Townships.

In a statement released recently Eskom said their technicians have stopped attending to calls for help with power re-connections from Boipatong, Orange Farm, Palm Springs, Sebokeng, Sharpeville and Tshepiso

“We will return to the area only when it is safe to do so,” reads part of the statement. The power utility warned communities to refrain from hijacking Eskom technicians on their way to attend to reported faults on their job cards.
