Vanderbijlpark Police Station closed as cops battle Covid 19

Vanderbijlpark Police Station closed as Covid 19 causes havoc

Vanderbijlpark Police Station will be closed from today until tomorrow to pave way for a disinfection process after some members tested positive to COVID-19.

This followed after 10 police officers at the police station tested positive for Covid 19. However no official confirmation has been made to Vaal Observer about the exact number of infected cops. The station will be opened on Thursday.

Police Spokesperson, Col. Noxolo Kweza, confirmed that the station will be closed today.

“We can confirm that the police station will be closed for decontamination, but unfortunately we cannot confirm how many officers tested positive for the Covid-19 virus disease,” said Kweza.

The disturbing news follows after Umfuleni Municipality buildings in Vanderbijlpark were shut down after two employees tested negative.
